 What is the image about? 

This image depicts the natural beauty of the mountain covered in snow, the river leading up to the mountains and the trees surrounding it on the side.

What do you like about the image?

I like how the photo shows the mountain and the sky and its reflection onto the river below.

One element of art used is color where you see the blue sky, the white snow on the dark mountains, and the green trees in the background. One principle of design is balance where the photo shows the mountains and its reflection onto the river.

When Caroline Foster was 17 years old, she took her first solo trip to Samoa.

What is the image about?

This image shows a surfer riding a wave while the sun sets in the background.

What do you like about the image?

I like the way the sun casts a shadow over the surfer so you can only see his silhouette and the water has a very blue color to it. 

List at least one element of art and one principle of design used in the image.

One element of art would be the use of color where the sun is a yellowish orange and the sky is blue while the surfer is cast into a dark shadow and the water is blue with a hint of green that is from the sun.  One principle of design would be emphasis where the surfer is the main subject of the photo.

What is the image about?

This picture shows lightning striking a volcano and the red lava in the volcano is visible. 

What do you like about the image?

I like how the colors of blue and red are mixing together and the volcano itself is dark and really emphasizes the two colors.

One element of art was color with the blue lightning and red lava. One principle of design was the use of contrast between the lightning and lava which is clearly seen in this photo.
